Finnaly here.

From Ottawa I took a flight out to Toronto to meet up with the group. It was so nice to see the people who have been through things with you and are ready to go through more. From Toronto 6:00 pm we flew to Germany at 3:30am (our time and in their time it was 8:30 am) and had a 12 hour stay over. So all of us were Zombie for the day in Germany. Not only were we tired no one spoke English in the town we took the train to. When ever I tried to ask someone for help or even to buy something they would speak in German and ecnorde the fact that I spoke English. It was kinda fun sticking out a little bit but felt a-lot like a Math Question that you cant figure out because we didn’t know what they were saying. It was a long day that I wont forget but a place that i don’t really think I would like to go back to. So we got at they air for 4 hour before our flight. A-lot of us sleept including me en-tell 20 minutes before the flight. As we were all in one clump sitting on the floor their was a group of student who looked like they were in high school and one of them asked me where we were from and I told them “We are from Canada.
YThat started a conversation that was very interesting. I turn out that they are Africans and they did a student exchange in Germany. They asked us all tips of Question just as we did in return. After a ten hour flight I made it safe and sound to South Africa and let me tell you it is nothing like I have ever seen before in my life. As soon as we got out of the airport me and the group got really excited. The air was worm and smooth. We took an hour Drive out of kang bridge to a college called Hern bridge College. We spent the day doing game and swimming to help get ride of jet lag the next day. Over the next three months God is going to be doing some crazy stuff and I can’t wait to see it face to face.

Vancouver City

So we spent a week in the city of Vancouver. We got their on the 22 for a free weekend. We had 22 to the 24 off to go around the city to become familiar with it. We were in Vancouver to do the Urbane plunge. This is our second one on the trip. I remember on the saturday on our free weekend we were in the mall having lunch and this guy come up to Mate and asked him what he was reading. Mate replied and said the bible. He knew some of the bible to. When he was walking away i notice that his pants were dirty and had wholes every were. I said God if he need help let me know. Five minutes go later and i see him going through garbage trying to find food. My first reaction was to get up and ask him if we wanted lunch. His name is Joel and he loving working on a farm and milking cows. He plays Goutare and keyboard, his favorite genre is rock. Over that weekend God called a-lot of us to help some of the homeless. I thought it was so cool that God used us even before the plunge started.

Their were so many stories that i want to tell but I don’t have the time to tell them all. I would like to end with a man named Steven King. Me, Kate, Nadine and Darin were walking down the East side of Vancouver and handing out lunches and notes to people with hugs. We meet this man who was drunk and high because he lost $300. We asked is he wanted a hug. He replied that he was never loved before. The first hug he got almost made me cry. I could see in his eyes how much it meant to him. We decided to have lunch with him. He was starving, I was glad that we had his favorite samwitch for him. He read his not and stated to cry because no one has ever done this for him. at the bottom of the note he asked use to read the verse we put on it for him. He asked us f God loved him at all. We told him that God loved him so much that he died for him and hugged him. After talking to him for half an hour he got kick out of the Library because he was drink alcohol, we told him to put it away ( would get aggressive if we touched it so we didn't). He is a man who so desperately needs Gods love. if you could Pray for him that would be great (Steven King)

Guys week!

Guys week was a blast. We did tuns of crazy thing in one week, from paint-balling to having a big scavenger hunt in the beautiful town. Our speaker was Blayne who talked about girls and how we should look, treat and talk to. A really cool thing that we did in that week was that the guys come up with questions for the girls and the girls would do the same, then in the middle of the week we would trade and answer. It was neat to hear how similar the guys wanted to be treated with the same amount of respect as the girls did. God challenged alot of the guys from both the site about their relationships from home or the ones that are almost in play on the trip. By the end of the trip we were all pretty much pissed of with each other for the littlest things but thank God that we talked to the people who were pissed at us and that the talked to the people who were pissed of at them. At the end of it all the week was awesome!!!

Urban Plunge!!

For these day we were in Down town Winnipeg doing the Urbane Plunge. We learned about the streets, gangs, drugs, and people who are broken. These day were hard. I saw first hand Gods broken people and loved apone them and served them in soup kitchens, talking to them and hearing their stories. A storie that i want to share is about a boy call christian.

In most city neighborhoods, the community parks is popular destination for all kind of families and kids. However, these parks are often filled with friendship groupings and family units who are there independently of one another and who generally don’t know each other very well. Pritchard Park is different. On any given day after school hours, this park is teeming with kids - many of whom spent every single afternoon, and well into the evening, playing at the park.

This past spring was one of those times when things got tough. On june 25, just after 7:00 PM, a 5 year-old boy named Kristin was riding his bike across Manitoba Street On Charles Avenue. Kristin was hit by a tow truck coming through the intersection, and was killed instantly. Someone from the community instantly covered his body with a coat and 911 was called, but many of the kids who were playing in the park, Kristin’s friend and family, saw the brutal accident.

Kristin was a fun-loving and happy kid, always looking for a hug and always happy to cuddle on his parents lap and tell them about their day. He had the incredibility to have lengthy conversation with kids and adults, asking all kinds of questions about their day and how things were going.

But the neat thing is that even when tragedy hits, God’s light still cut through the darkness and bring healing and transformation. Right after the accident, this community of kids rallied together to create a memorial of the side of the road- bringing their stuffed animals and toys, drawing pictures, and making cards.

This stories really hit home for a lot of us on this trip. Over those four day we heard lots of power, happy, sad ,painful stories. I will never forget how God loves the poor and broken of people and how he calls us to go Help, lesion, cry, lough and most of all LOVE.

Canoe Trip

i just got back from our canoe trip. We went to a camp called camp pioneer were we met our leaders who were going to be our guides for our trip. Our canoe trip was three night and four days. The took our group and splited us into two (16) in each group. In those four days, were challenged with Waves, Pain, Stress. Over those days the asked us questions in the morning and talked about it in the evening. The first questioned they asked “ were do we see God beauty?”. I saw it in so many places. The first place ways at a mining place. Seeing all the old building be taken over by the forest and looking at the lake se-rounded by trees that were changing through the season. Some of the trip was hard for me because I have a really hard time loving my self. For me to be stuck with my self or being in silence was so hard. The second question was “Were do you see brokenes?”. we came to this mountain that we had to clime. It took us and hour to clime. I was so over weld by God beauty that how could I see God Brokeness in this. I sate down and Said out aloud alone with God. Let me HEAR your brokeness! As soon as i said that. looking over the valley i hear trees falling over making this hug crash! then I relized that the forest is slowly dyeing everyday. Tree wrought and die and the moss comes to grow and live on the death. Just like our sin, people let in live in them and don’t relized that they are slowly dyeing Intel one-day death comes and nocks you over were you can never get up again. The trip was hard but so Good. Coming back and seeing the other half of the family was so joyful, we shared stories, loughs and hugs. I am so glade that i am here and thank God for the people i’m with!.

So we are at our camp site and the place is just beautiful. Their is a lake that look like it is going on for ever! They have a play ground that is meant to for adults. Finally the guy and girls friendship has taken off. I didn't know this but this guy named Dan told me that it is a very Mennonite for the guys and girls to be separated. In my head I was like “Man that sucks, I am glade that i am not Meninight!”. So our leaders went though the rules and thing we need to know for this year. My leaders our Sandy, Steve, Me Me and Rafael. They are so funny and sweet. I can’t wait to have deep conversation with them this year. We also did team building games and played 2 hours of grounders (hello Awesome!!!) Ohh and the Food here I so GOOD, i am getting feed like a horse :). The days are long, a good long thow. This year is going to be a year of changed, learning and so many other thing that God is going to be doing in my life.
